Mauritius & Rodrigues - snorkeling

Where are the best sites in Mauritius for snorkeling ?
What about Rodrigues ?
Would you recommend a hotel for beach activities (or inactivity ...) - hotel type = ** or ***.

We have had a great time in Seychelles 3 years ago, where one could see beautiful fish and even turtles a few meters from the beach.
Aren't we going to be disappointed by Maurice submarine landscapes ?

Is my question so embarassing ?
Has everything been destroyed by tourism and fishing, up to a point Maurice became no more beautiful than any average beach location ?
I can't beleive nobody had the idea to take a snorkeling gear to take a look at what under the water ...

What about Rodrigues ? It's supposed to be preserved and wilder ...

nice region is in the north of mru, good weather there, easy to go arround.

snorkeling good from cap malheureux and Ile Plate, very clear water there.

For Rodrigues: I booked it from MRU, it is really worth to see,
I stayed there in the Cotton Bay Hotel.
