Par défaut Ile-Maurice.com site

I have just discovered this site and think it's great. Well done, it seems like a good place to converse with people in Mauritius. I am not Mauritian but am married to a Mauritian, the most beautiful people in the world. I would love to chat with people in Mauritius.

I hope to visit some time in the next 18 months, but it is very expensive from Australia to fly to Mauritius and then pay tourist prices for accommodation which I don't want to be (a tourist that is). I want to live in an apartment and really experience the Mauritian way of life.

Chat with you soon.

hi ann iam smallville thanks for speaking so kindly of our beatiful country of mauritius . I live in the united kingdom but a year or so ago I visited mauritius after 5 years or so , after 6 months of absolute joy and tasting the sheer beauty of mauritius i did not want to come back to the uk . The best piece of advice i can give you is that you should visit mauritius as soon as possible ... it will be one of the best things you will ever see and do in your life . I am positive that once you visit Mauritius you will always want to come back again and again .

Actually there are many mauritians living in Australia. I myself have many primary school friends you went to settle in Australia during the last 20 years. I believe these people still think of their beloved country.

Thank you so much for your replies. The reason we have not visited Mauritius yet is because I am on the other side of Australia and air fares are quite expensive with it being such a large country.

But hopefully next January we will get there. It would be easier if we lived in Perth which is closer to Mauritius.

When we get there, I am looking forward to going to the horse racing which I understand is lots of fun and visiting Curepipe for the shopping. I also hope to visit Rose Hill where my husband was born.

I keep track with what is going on in Mauritius through the internet and try to find english articles and I also read the government sites, however some don't appear to be updated as frequently as I would like, never mind.

Hope Cyclone Gerry has not done too much damage.
