Though I have still an unanswered question.
Do banks in Mauritius accept EURO's € ?
Sorry for my bad English but I live in Belgium and I used to speak Dutch.

Yes they do. We also have toothpaste in Mauritius. No need to bring yours.

the best change you get with € travellerchecks, more money than cash

by the Mauritian Commercial Bank, you pay for up to 10 checks 50 MUR-
1,70€ commision, if you go to another bank, check before the commision.

If you stay in the north of Mauritius, check the change by the shibany moneychanger in Grand Baie and Mont Choisi or the changer in Pereybere in the building of the Cote d'Azur Hotel, opposite the main entrance of the beach.
In Pereybere was last year november the best change, better than the banks.

no problem with the language , may be only Flic en Flac is speaking creole


in the rest of the island , all understand french, the most speak french
and many people ( and all people working with tourists ) speak and understand
english.
